Art & Polynomials
Description
For this project we took a picture and created another picture from it using polynomials. To do this we first found polynomials on the original image and drew them onto a piece of graph paper. We used the X-Intercepts that we found from this to create the final equations. Before making the final equations we needed to find a scalar to make the equations that we found match the polynomials that we drew. We did this to the best of our ability, but getting it perfect was nearly impossible. After we found the equations we drew our new image based off of the polynomials. The final results varied, some people making a cat into a whale and others making simple landscapes.

This was a good project because before we started I didn't feel like I understood polynomials that well. After this project I felt confident with polynomials because of what I had learned throughout the project. Out of all of the projects this year I feel like this is the project I have benefited most from because I enjoy math and I didn't like that I didn't understand anything going into this project. i would recommend doing something similar to this to anyone that needs to understand polynomials.
